The Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, South Carolina is one of only two locations for Marine training in the United States. The rigorous, 12-week program transforms young men and woman into Marines. Our exhibit is designed to take parents, visitors and want-to-be Marines on a week-by-week march through the experience of Recruit training. HW Exhibits used larger-than-life images of Marine Recruits as the backdrop for the stories. Interactives, such as a 50-pound backpack lift, a mock helicopter, the dreaded gas chamber, touch screen interactives, and hands-on flip-ups reinforce the realities of the relentless training process. The exhibit follows Recruits as they get off the bus and stand on the yellow footprints as civilians all the way to the day they receive their Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem and become Marines.
