In 2018 the City of Camden began to develop plans for a new multi-building visitor center to share the under-told story of the American Revolution in South Carolina and serve as a visitor center for Kershaw County. HW Exhibits joined the City of Camden team to develop a concept plan for the 3,400-square-foot visitor center. We development the exhibit content and designs and worked with other partners to construct and install the exhibits. The final exhibits include a dramatic entrance to welcome visitors to the center; interpretive wallpapers and murals; activity reader rails with audio-stations and other hands-on activities; a tavern to explore the arguments for and against revolution; three dioramas including one portraying the Battle of Camden; and a unique sculptural tree showcasing natural and historic places to visit in Kershaw County. The exhibit opened in August 2021.
